One of our early ideas for our final deliverable. We were really into the idea of showing wear over time, a concept that was incorporated into our final design.
One of our early ideas for our final deliverable. This imprint jewelry box is perhaps the closest we got to our final project at this phase.
By the middle of the quarter, my group had decided we wanted to make a jewelry box that preserved a “story.”
After deciding to make a box, we held a participatory design workshop to see what our target audience wanted from a potential jewelry vessel.

Our storyboard, which shows how our box is intended to be used.
Our physical Adoré prototype! A labor of love...
My wonderful group and I at our project showcase!

ADORÉ

Adoré is a multigenerational jewelry box intended to protect a cherished piece of jewelry from the elements, visually preserve generations of wear through patina of the copper shell, and tactilely remind the user of the original owner through fingerprints engraved into the surface of the box.

Please see my Medium post for a full exploration into my group’s process on this project, and please view our promo video below! Thank you so much to my incredible groupmates Lee, Lily-Rose, Natalie, and Macks, as well as our professor Cayla Key and TA Maya Kaneko for all of their hard work on this project. I am so proud to share our work!
